| For a variety of reasons, we have decided to migrate our blog to another place. A place of more choice, better design, and easier ways to add content. We have had many good memories documented with Xanga, and we are very grateful for the last few years that we have been here. Hopefully the new page will be full of great posts about our lives as a family. Check us out at http://jonandleah.wordpress.com/

| I'm realizing that I've been very rubbish at updating the blog lately as we've been so busy! I have less of an excuse now because with our new computer it's much easier to download photos since our iPhoto doesn't freeze up all the time. But nonetheless, life is busy so it sometimes gets pushed aside. But not for too long, as I'm resurfacing once again!
As some of you may know, we have decided on a location for the practical/outreach phase of the DTS. Jon and I have had Lebanon on our hearts, of course, but we knew we probably wouldn't be there for the whole outreach and wanted to make sure it wasn't just our vision taking everyone there. So we've been talking and praying as staff and also as a DTS. 2 weeks ago we had a staff meeting and in praying all 6 of us felt a peace and excitement that this is where we should be going for outreach. We're planning to go for 4-5 weeks of the international outreach (there will also be a couple weeks of outreach here in the UK) and are so looking forward to being back in Lebanon and connecting with friends. God is so good.
And the other news to share from tonight is...Kaitlyn is crawling! She started standing and walking while holding onto things fairly early on (months ago) and still needs to have things to balance but moves around pretty quickly. If I put her in the middle of the floor to get her to crawl she'd try, fall flat, get mad, want me to pick her up, and finally lay her head on the floor or find something on the floor to eat. This is where we've been for a couple months. She's been able to scoot herself around on the floor for months now, but never stayed after it long enough to actually crawl. Tonight our friend Lucy stopped by and I put her down in the middle of the floor and Lucy was sitting on the floor a bit away. I told Lucy "I know she knows how to crawl, she just doesn't seem to like to." Then she crawled to Lucy. Then back to me, then to Lucy and so forth for about 30+ minutes! Funny how it happens so suddenly.

| I know it's been way too long since we've blogged and I can't find the energy or time right now to make this a long blog, but here is a little video of Kaitlyn getting around. We're all doing really well, very busy but really enjoying life and leading the DTS. Kaitlyn's moving around really quickly as long as she has a wall or something to hold onto or balance with. Her newest interests are to take the books off the bookshelf and she can now open the washing machine door on her own-clever girl! Ignore my voice in the background, I was talking to my sister on the phone when Jon was taking the video. Miss you guys and I hope you enjoy!

| I am so happy to share some exciting news...which is that today a package came from my brother (on behalf of my whole family and Jeremiah's kind girlfriend). We knew something was coming, but we weren't sure what. When it finally came this morning, we opened it while on skype with my brother and we were absolutely blown away to open a Macbook Pro!!! It's perfect, if we were to purchase any computer of our choice, this would be it! We were so surprised and blown away by their generosity! Thank you family! This is a real praise report as we'd been praying for a new computer and weren't sure where one would come from. Our Mac Powerbook was hanging on, but it's nearly 7 years old now. The battery doesn't hold a charge so it has to be plugged in, the cord for it is duct taped since it has a short in it, and we could no longer close the screen since it was making a weird noise and we weren't sure what it was and didn't want to hurt it to where it would disconnect the screen and no longer work. Other than that, I guess it was working well for a 7 year old computer . Anyway, I was going to write more, but I need to get some sleep. Jon and I are teaching on the topic of forgiveness for the next 2 days for the DTS, so I need to get some sleep so I can get up early to finish preparing when my mind is (hopefully) fresher. If you think of it, please pray for us as we speak as we do hope that we can speak clearly and share God's heart, not just our own. We love and miss you guys! We only have a few photos on our laptop (which I am typing this on) so I will leave you with these... Kaitlyn is waiting to open the package to see what's inside She's walking anywhere she can while holding onto things Kaitlyn's learning her numbers and letters while we're helping lead outreach prep Outreach prep: we must first learn to work together as a team! Here's a great group of DTSers. I like this one. This last week is when she finally made it from the rocking chair to the table to the washing machine to the kitchen counters...and beyond! She's very proud of herself too. | | |
